AlUla Film Campus
Phase 2
Completed in 2025
The Royal Commission for AlUla envisions the AlUla region as a premieum international destination for film and music production. The development of the Film and Sound Campus for Film AlUla represents a significant milestone in the region’s ongoing transformation.
The campus comprises two large-scale sound stages, supported by ancillary buildings and workshops dedicated to set construction (Phase 1).
Positioned between the studios, the administration building incorporates a contemporary music recording studio. A low-rise, hexagonal multipurpose hall, designed to accommodate approximately 400 people, is complemented by a fully equipped catering kitchen (Phase 2).
The site’s natural topography, descending from north to south, was deliberately integrated into the design concept. The terrain was further sculpted to reduce the perceived scale of the administration building at the main entrance while simultaneously bringing daylight into a level originally conceived as a basement.
The resulting change in elevation also enabled the roof terrace of the multipurpose hall to be connected to the administration building via a lightweight, fully accessible bridge, creating additional opportunities for flexible use across the campus.
